Margaret joined BlueLake in 2021 and is pleased to partner with her father, Dan Swanson, and the team at BlueLake Wealth Advisors.
Margaret grew up in Western Springs and graduated from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with degrees in Accounting and International Business. After graduation, Margaret passed the CPA exam and began her career in Public Accounting working in the Federal Tax Financial Services Group at KPMG Chicago. After her time at KPMG, Margaret went to Goldman Sachs in the Alternative Investment Client Services Group supporting Goldman Sachs Asset Management institutional and retail clients. Most recently, Margaret sold portfolio management solutions to independent registered investment advisors through a Chicago-based fintech start-up, Bridge Financial Technology.
Margaret holds the Series 7 FINRA General Securities Representative and Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Examination. She is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser with Kestra Advisory Services, LLC, is securities licensed in several states, and holds Illinois and Indiana Life Insurance and Variable Contracts licenses. Margaret is also a Candidate for CFP® certification.
Her wide range of experience in the financial services industry serves as a strong foundation and natural progression into financial planning and investment management. Margaret has a passion for finding solutions and helping clients live a life of financial freedom.
Margaret and her husband, Matt, lived in Old Town, Chicago and Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Carmel, Indiana in 2022. They have a daughter, Claire, and she enjoys spending time with her family, riding the Peloton, walking their dog, Chloe, and traveling to see friends and family.
